How could I forget?

The mechanic did not mince words.

"Your front tires are bald," he said.

And so I was spending some time at my computer - googling - tires. I was actually spending more time that I wanted googling tires. And I kept thinking - for crying out loud.

This was after reconciling my checkbook and seeing how much money I have spent on my vehicle already this year.  GRRRR

Besides that - tires are not fun.  Necessary yes, but certainly not as much fun as a new outfit (or two) or a trip or well - I bet you can think of things you would rather have than tires.

GRRRR

And then out of the corner of my eye, I saw him (or her).

It was a Robin.

Full disclosure - I had to google the word Robin to be sure. That was only after I noticed that it had a red breast.

As I watched the bird move from branch to branch I suddenly remembered a poem my daddy used to love to quote to me:

" Said the Robin to the Sparrow, 'I should really like to know

Why these anxious human beings Rush about and worry so.'

'Said the Sparrow to the Robin  "Friend, I think that it must be

That they have no Heavenly Father;

Such as cares for you and me".

It has been a couple of weeks since that afternoon.  Two new tires later, I realize once again that there is really no reason to get all in a tither.

I do have a Heavenly Father.  He does care for me.  I just sometimes need that ever so gentle reminder.

"His eye is on the sparrow - and I know He watches me".

May your life be filled with enough sunshine
to make you appreciate the shadows
